GOLO Rewards

GOLO Rewards was a Cash Back system, where it’s users could earn
GOLO Dollars for their purchases. Of course, we had
to find the best way to integrate it within the payment flow.

Since the infrastructure/technology was already in place from it’s parent company, Paysafe, GOLO had the ability to offer alternative payment methods. This led to the creation of ‘GOLO Rewards,’ where a certain percentage(3%) of user’s spending would be saved as ‘GOLO Dollars,’ and could be used for future payments. However, as with any feature and problem to solve there were a few caveats to our goals, most notably on the business side (see below)…

Research/Benchmarks

Since this was a new feature for the product, there wasn’t any pre-existing data we could use to leverage, other than pre-existing UX/UI patterns of alternative payment methods (i.e. gift cards, gift rewards, etc.)

User Flow

Since the payment feature occurs on the payment page (Order Summary), the flow remained relatively straightforward with the differences being in Partial Pay of Full Redeem of GOLO Dollars.

Iterations & Rapid Prototypes

Due to timing and resources, a quick guerilla test amongst colleagues and stakeholders was shared, with each version having it’s own pros and cons, but still delivering on our respective goals...

Results

After adding this new flow, we saw certain areas of engagement that deemed this successful, most notably the use of GOLO Rewards, which indicated users were finding this new currency easily within the purchase funnel.

  • The increased use of GOLO Rewards, which indicated users were finding this new currency easily within the purchase funnel.

  • Increased GOLO purchases which seemed to indicate users felt incentivized enough by the program.
